Okubo Re-Signs with CIA Landlord Insurance Honda
Japanese rider to remain with PTR-run squad
Hikari Okubo has re-signed with the CIA Landlord Insurance Honda team in WorldSSP, with the Japanese rider having put in some impressive rookie performance to date – including 3 points finishes in a row in the last three World Supersport. All signs point to a good foundation for the Japanese rider ahead of his now-confirmed second year at world level.
“I’m very happy to join PTR run CIA Landlord Insurance Honda again in 2017,” says Okubo. “I think I can do well because it’s a very good team with great people. I want to finish in the top six in the World Supersport Championship next year and I believe I can do it. I want to thank Simon san, the team staff, sponsors and my fans. I’ll give full gas next race in Germany!”
“We are pleased to sign Hikari for a further year,” said Team Manager Simon Buckmaster. “He has impressed with his achievements so far this year and he is only going to get better. Hikari was keen to stay with us for 2017 and we were just as keen to commit to him for another season.”
The next race for the pairing is Lausitzring in Germany in September as WorldSSP come back from the summer break, with engines firing up for the last four Rounds of the season.
